3 Full-Body Exercises That You Can Do in a Group

Blog

One of the appealing things about many full-body exercises is that you can do them anywhere. If you want to go for a jog, for example, there's almost certainly somewhere near you — a trail, a high school track, or simply the sidewalk — that is conducive to this activity. While many people love working out alone, this isn't the case for everyone. If you're keen on taking up a full-body exercise and want to do it with other people to help stay motivated, you have several options. Here are three full-body exercises that you can do with a group.

1. Step Aerobics

Step aerobics is a full-body exercise that you can do at home, but that is common for people to do in groups at their local fitness centers. These classes are filled with other like-minded individuals — people who want to burn calories and strengthen their muscles, all while enjoying the encouragement and support of their instructor and their peers. Fitness centers run all sorts of step aerobics classes, so you won't have trouble finding one that suits not only your level of experience with this activity but also your level of fitness.

2. Boot Camps

Many communities have boot camp classes that people enjoy taking to improve their physical fitness. Boot camp classes are all about getting the body working as one, so you'll find that this workout is loaded with full-body exercises. If you're someone who tends to get bored when performing a single exercise for a long period, a boot camp might work well for you. Many of these classes focus on interval training. In other words, you'll be performing several exercises — including many that work the entire body, such as running and jumping jacks — but only for short bursts at a time. Many boot camp classes take place early in the morning, allowing you to fit this workout in before work.

3. Yoga

While yoga has more of a subdued feel than many other types of full-body exercises, this is an activity that gets your entire body working as one. You can not only take yoga classes at a local yoga studio, but many fitness centers also have regular yoga classes for people of all abilities. Don't mistake the slower tempo for less of a workout. Holding various positions for several seconds at a time is an effective way to strengthen your entire body.

I started hitting the gym about five times a week, and the difference that it made in my life was astounding. I found myself with more energy and more stamina, and it was really invigorating. I realized that I had changed my life, and it was really incredible. I decided to start this blog completely dedicated to health and exercise to change the way other people think about movement. With the right exercise, you can enjoy a healthier, happier body that you feel more confident about.
